I got a song I want to sing
And it’s full of people, places, and things
It’s got my father’s and it’s got your name
This song I want to sing
This song I want to sing
It’s about the blues how the blues got me
If I pull the trigger, will it set me free?
But I got too many songs to sing
I got this song to sing
I got this song to sing
There’s nothing I’d rather do
Than sing this song, sing this song, sing this song for you
It’s what I’m meant to do
This song will make you laugh, will make you cry
This song is for the dreamer who left everything behind
This song it gives me reason to be good, to love, to live
And for you this song, I sing
And for you this song, I sing
There’s nothing I’d rather do
Than sing this song, sing this song, sing this song for you
It’s what I’m meant to do
If you find yourself singing along
Don’t worry about the voices that may say the notes are wrong
You can laugh, you can yell, tell the whole wide world your cares
And with you, this song, I’ll sing
And with you, this song, I’ll sing
Yeah, I got a song I want to sing
And it’s full of people, places, and things
It’s got your story and it’s got your name
This song I want to sing
This song I want to sing

AIREENE ESPIRITU:
"… a rare breed of artist, a soul singer, a folk troubadour, a blues artist, a busk show princess, a skiffle tear-stained street singer with a heart as big as the history of the music that drives her. And in the final analysis, she is a storyteller without borders or cultural limitations…"

Aireene is a singer/songwriter based in Oakland, CA whose songs are accompanied by latin/african rhythms, folk, bluegrass pickings and inspirations from gospel music - a mix of stompin', swayin', and timeless Americana.
She was born in the Philippines and moved to the United States at 10 years old, growing up in the third culture: the old country, the new country and a blend of both worlds. Mainly influenced by listening to Alan Lomax's field recordings from the South, and growing up listening to her uncles' Filipino folk guitar fingerpicking, her music is reminiscent of front porch storytelling, of ghosts and the living, times of laughter and tears. She tours solo as well as with her band, Aireene & The Rarities
