Rise early this morning' our day has come
This time we can't be late
We'll rule the earth and sky today
In celebration of All Souls' Day
And we'll glide along the highways
Over the Golden Gate
The canyons echo our voices
Across the oceans to see them again
Hello my brother, hello dear friends
Glad we could spend this time together
I smell the flowers you placed on my grave
And I smile when you mention my name
Yeah, we'll glide along the highways
Over the Golden Gate
The canyons echo our voices
Across the oceans to see you again
Lover, lover how have you been?
Sure is nice to see you smile again
A fresh new start, with sweet company
And a brand new love to set you free
Yeah, we'll glide along the highways
Over the Golden Gate
The canyons echo our voices
Across the oceans to see you again
Across the oceans to see you again

AIREENE ESPIRITU:
"… a rare breed of artist, a soul singer, a folk troubadour, a blues artist, a busk show princess, a skiffle tear-stained street singer with a heart as big as the history of the music that drives her. And in the final analysis, she is a storyteller without borders or cultural limitations…"

Aireene is a singer/songwriter based in Oakland, CA whose songs are accompanied by latin/african rhythms, folk, bluegrass pickings and inspirations from gospel music - a mix of stompin', swayin', and timeless Americana.
She was born in the Philippines and moved to the United States at 10 years old, growing up in the third culture: the old country, the new country and a blend of both worlds. Mainly influenced by listening to Alan Lomax's field recordings from the South, and growing up listening to her uncles' Filipino folk guitar fingerpicking, her music is reminiscent of front porch storytelling, of ghosts and the living, times of laughter and tears. She tours solo as well as with her band, Aireene & The Rarities
